Book Description:

What can a parent do when their teen is rebellious, distant, or depressed? Parents often feel helpless, not knowing how to understand what their teen is going through, let alone what actions they can take. Licensed counselor Connie Rae has seen it all, both in her professional practice and in her personal life with a son who struggled through a drug addiction. In her book Hope for Parents of Troubled Teens, she offers encouragement and practical advice on what to say and do, and mistakes to avoid.

In her reassuring tone, Connie provides parents with time-tested advice, including how to:

• Handle the inevitable conflicts that arise and effectively communicate with their child
• Effectively deal with rebellious behavior
• Recognize when their teen is abusing alcohol or drugs and how to help
• Understand their teen's temperament and developmental process
• Help teens gain a healthy, biblically grounded self-esteem

Whether a parent is preparing for the challenges of the adolescent years ahead or the situation looks bleak already, Connie helps open up the world of the teenage mind and provide the steps they need to protect and restore the relationship with their child. In addition, she concludes each chapter with recommended practical steps and a prayer.
