Rude Teen at the Checkout Stand
04/22/2015

I was standing in line at the grocery store with my nephew and niece when I noticed a 16-ish-year-old high school girl had cut in front of us, without us noticing. She was stealthy, and was standing with her back intentionally to me with her dollar and lip balm in hand. As her turn came up, and the cashier was checking her out, I slid my package of sushi over to the scanner and said, "She's buying my sushi, too."  I could see the girl stiffen up. The cashier asked, "You're buying this, too?" She nervously giggled and said, "Oh, no. I'm not buying that." I replied, "Yeah, I think you are. When you cut in front of someone without asking, you should buy their sushi. It's only right. That's what I'd do if I were you." She nervously mumbled and stammered her way through the rest of the transaction with the cashier then bolted from the store. She didn't pay for my three dollar pack of sushi, but hopefully she learned a lesson.

The cashier and I had a good laugh over it.
