You're to Blame
08/15/2016

"You're to blame for teaching me right from wrong and expecting me to do the right thing.

You're to blame for showing me that I matter in my family's life.

You're to blame for teaching me what it means to be a man.

You're to blame that I am my kid's dad.

You're also to blame for me being my wife's boyfriend.

You are also to blame for being the voice of a mother I never had."

I hope you are proud of yourself and what you have done to me in my life. I just wanted you to know that you're not just your kids mom; your mom to all of us who never had one and were willing to listen.

I grew up with an alcoholic dad and a mom the stood by his side. I had no role model. So I listened to the lone voice telling me to do the right thing. I am now married with two GOOD kids,  going on 19 happy years. My 15-year-old daughter just finished reading "Ten Stupid Things Women Do to Mess up Their Lives", before any supervised dating can happen. And yes, my 13-year-old son is just finishing up "Ten Stupid Things Men Do to Mess up their Lives." Summer reading and a must before dating. The moral of the story is always listen to your mother.

Thanks you for being my mom!
