My parents have been married for 57 years and in that time my mom has had 113 visits to emergency rooms and 38 major surgeries: Back surgeries (5), abdominal - many times, eye, mouth, knees, experimental, and a total mastectomy with reconstructive surgery, etc.
Through it all my dad has been there through the ambulance rides, through the endless hours of waiting through surgery and the difficult long recoveries she always experienced. He has loved on her, spent his days with her, cares for her in every way possible
