Dear Dr. Laura, 

My husband, of almost 22 years, has always paid attention when it comes to what I like/want/need. From the very small and insignificant to major life concerns, he has always looked out for my best interests and has in your words "treated kindly". 

The specific event that solidified it for me occurred several months after we started dating. I was attending my brother's wedding and he had stayed behind at my home because I don't think he was invited. When I returned many hours later, he had taken it upon himself to completely detail my car. As a single girl, working two jobs and the owner of a very large and hairy dog, it was quite a mess. He used those hours to do something for me that I didn't have time to do for myself. He has never stopped doing these things. He calls every night as he's leaving work to ask if I need anything. He is the love of my life.
