The Bravest Thing I've Seen Someone Do

I have the honor of being a member of the combat veterans here in the United States and see superhuman bravery daily.  But what always got me, was even though many would never see home again, they would quietly head out and do their missions. The bravest thing I've ever seen is a young man or woman signing their name to a document that has set them onto a dangerous path that may cost them their very life, but they are OK with it, because it means their loved ones will continue to live free.

It's funny though because while I say those men and women are the bravest for signing up and doing their duty, I don't think of myself in that manner. I was just doing what my father trained me to do and the Army polished me up. I always figured that if I died defending the nation I love, then I would simply wake up to be with our Lord.

May the Peace and Love of Christ be in you. Thank you for all that you do.
