Non-Supportive Parents of Military Personnel
Dear Dr. Laura,
Wow. I never heard/witnessed better self control than the wonderful response you gave to that cruel woman (and cruel husband) who dared rip a young man going off to war and possibly his death. I wanted to scream and kick that woman (and the "dad"). Good thing it was you not me talking to her. I feel this even more so now that my 19 year old daughter just joined the Army ROTC program at a nearby University. Don't know if she'll stay, depends if they unfreeze the college scholarship program. Even so, she enjoys it and has done very well in their training and physical testing. While her father and I support her absolutely, my eyes water when thinking of her possibly being in Afghanistan or wherever for the 4 years after she graduates. I think of your son serving in the military as well. God bless him (and you!) and all the rest of the troops, I pray often for their safety. Now my "Boo" could be in that bunch.
Thanks for all you do for everyone. You're the best,
B.
