I have been reading your book, The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands this week, and will be moving on soon to Woman Power. A newsletter I subscribe to featured this quote today, and I do not think it is in any way accidental the hand of G-d is everywhere.
I Love my husband. I do things for him and with him. I support him in his endeavors, and I work hard not to undermine his authority with our daughter. I try to keep the house the way he likes it, and I think our sex life is ok. But I don't think he does, and I know he would enjoy sex more if I acted like I was his girlfriend. Honestly, at the end of the day, sometimes I just don't want to get pretty and perfumed and all the rest. I just want to put on my PJ's and relax.
I know that men are very visual creatures, and the mere sight of our flesh does things to them that make them want us...NOW. I have always thought of this as an annoyance, but since reading your book, I have begun to change my thinking on this. I am flattered that after 16 years and a kidlet, he still finds it impossible to keep his hands off my naked body. That he recently told my daughter after she remarked that my butt was big, that "Mommy is perfect just the way she is, and she is beautiful."
So I got this e-mail newsletter, about what Proverbs has to say about delight. And this quote really drove that point home:
"A man is to delight in the wife of his youth and, further, to delight in her beauty and in his desire for her...a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight be intoxicated always in her love."
Wow. Not only is he hot for me, as I am NOW, not as I was when I was 20, but it is G-d's WILL and DELIGHT that he be so. It is the way it should be. I am vowing now to be my husband's girlfriend. He will never know what hit him!
