I'm Still Drying My Eyes!

God bless you, Dr. Laura!

I just heard you give advice to a little girl who lived with her father and only saw her mother a couple of times a year. She was sad because her mother would post comments online about how much she loved her son and would never mention her daughter. Her question to you was how she could learn to handle the pain that her mother's rejection brought her. I am the mother of a beautiful nine-year-old daughter and I cannot imagine treating her that way!

Part of the advice you gave was to put up her hands and by using her fingers, look at the people who loved her (on one hand) versus her mother (on the other hand).

I thought that was fantastic advice and could tell that the little girl felt so much better. At the end of the call, you asked her to add YOU to the hand of people who loved and admired her.

Boy, talk about the dam bursting! I thought your advice was so touching and beautiful. I am still choked up over it. I promise you, she will remember you and your advice until the end of her days!

Thank you for acting like the mom this little girl deserves and for giving her more love in the few minutes you interacted with her, than she has received in her entire lifetime from her "bio" mom!

You are an angel and I thank you from the all the moms out there who DO put our children first!

Sincerely,

J.
