The Fraudulent Military Wife

Dear Dr. Laura,

I listened to a caller whose daughter, whom I will refer to as "The Female" because she deserves no other title, married a military man for his dependents benefits. As a wife to a military warrior and the mom to his children, I am sick and appalled. I have spent the last 30 minutes fuming over the various reasons of my disgust. The fist of which being she is taking advantage of the good name and reputation of us wives who are legitimate, hard working warrior wives. I work hard to keep our house a safe haven for my husband to relax in after "shooting the bad guys", as my 5 year old son calls it. His success in keeping our country safe is my success also because I, and many other wives, are the rear echelon. Without the "dependent" warriors at home, our heroes don't fight like they should. The female committing fraud by taking advantage of our military benefits is a slap in my face and a stain on my reputation. The gratitude that I have for the Americans that provide me and my family with our benefits is down trodden by this female's lack of morals. She is spitting in my face of gratitude and the honor and character of the American taxpayers.

Furthermore, she is a security risk. I have had the honor of leading a support group for military spouses and it is a rule that we do not allow girlfriends or fiancees to participate in our groups because in the process of talking about our struggles, we share troop positions, missions they are in, and as a leader I give updates to the wives as I get reports from the command. If this female were a terrorist or an intelligence collector for our enemies, it would compromise the effectiveness and lives of our warriors. I hope you read this email on air in the hope that the mother of this female can hear the response of the many wives that I have the honor of speaking for.

Thanks for all you do, Dr. Laura.

M.

Warrior Wife and Girlfriend to my Husband and my kids' mom

P.S. My son said the other day, "Mom, Dr. Wauwa is mean!". Keep steering the morale compass no matter the image! Tough love!
