My Husband Is My Rock And Best Friend
Dear Dr. Laura,
My husband an I have been married for nine wonderful years and have two beautiful little girls. This past Sunday we took our little ones to the pumpkin patch for one more day of Halloween fun. As we watched our little girls playing on the castle bouncy, I couldn't help over hearing a women yelling at her little girl who couldn't have been more than two or three years old. Her husband was sitting by helplessly listening to her abuse and the poor children were so sad looking. They looked "used" to hearing her yelling and nagging. What a shame!
I looked at my husband and reached over and gave him one of my famous wifey-poo kisses, just because. It's the little things we each do that makes each moment special. All it takes is a sweet smile, a little kiss, a simple word of encouragement or any number of loving things to show the ones we care how much we care. What this woman does not realize is you don't need to yell and nag to get your children or husband to listen. All you need to do is encourage them with love. I am the luckiest women alive! We have so much love and this love makes us wealthy beyond measure!
Each and every day, we huddle together for our "family hug" and each and ever day, we tell each other how valued and appreciated we feel to have one another. Thank you Dr. Laura for all your amazing insight and keep up the good work!
Many thanks and appreciation,
R.
