Hi, I'm Dr. Laura and this is our YouTube channel, and these are your questions. This one's entitled "The Stud's Club":
"My male friend tells me that I am very 'closed' because I think that neither partner of a relationship should share specific, intimate details of their sex life with their friends; that it should be held sacred and private between the two in the relationship. I am not shacking up; that means I am not an 'unpaid whore'. (She wrote this...it's right here.) His opinion is that the guy should be able to share this information with his guy friends, 'This is what guys do.' Am I really 'closed' or is this opinion typical of a guy who is a card-carrying member of the Stud's Club?"
You've got that one. Here's the reality: I remember, today, talking to a guy who is upset because he dated this girl three times...three dates, three. Each of the times he had sex with her. After the third date, eh, she didn't want to go out with him anymore. He was a little upset. Why was he upset? He felt rejected. I said, "Well, you know what? She probably got bored with you in bed. You probably weren't either good enough, interesting enough or it was just old already because there was nothing else in the relationship!" That's what makes the sex meaningful.
Now, if you're just "hooking up", guys love to talk to each other about who they got, how many and how it went, and what a stud they were. Sorry, un-classy guys do that more but guys do tend to do that. A guy in love...a guy in love, a man in love, will never speak about it. So yeah, guys talk about it all the time because they're trying to show off their prowess. A man in love would die before he'd say anything, because it would sully the perfection of what he has with that very special woman. And they just don't do that. So, this guy friend of yours? Ditch him.
