Spicy Language in the Marital Bed
Hi, I'm Dr. Laura and welcome to my YouTube channel. And I have an interesting question here, from Terri:
"Would you address the use of profanity in husband-wife sexual relations? My husband and I disagree on the use of certain words during passionate moments. I feel it is degrading and not appropriate in bed with someone I have made vows with before God. Can you comment please?"
Well, when you use a sentence like, "Vows before God," it seems pretty inappropriate to be using sort of sexy, edgy words. But you know what? Here's my feeling. The point is, you two did make vows before God to be special to each other and sometimes playfulness is an interesting and wonderful part of husband and wife passion. You might think about letting go into some of that excitement and seeing if it feels comfortable.
When you put it in the package you put it into, it sort of seems like a, well, "No." But, you know, the playfulness between the two of you and the excitement and all of that could be a lot of fun. So, I'm just asking you to loosen up a little, have a little fun. He's your husband, you are his woman... Play it a little... [Makes coughing sound]
