He's Giving and Loving, But Takes No Garbage
Dr. L: Bebe, here. [Bebe, the dog, comes running back to Dr. Laura] Good little girl, good little…all right, go leave text messages [points to the grass].
All right, Kimberly, you have another question for me?
Kimberly Neill: Here we go, from Anna.
Dr. L: Anna.
Kimberly: “I heard a recent caller to your radio program who was involved with a ‘weak’ man. What constitutes a ‘weak’ man, and how can women (like myself) who are dating and looking for a good husband differentiate between a weak and a strong man?”
Dr. L: [Laughs] This is a short one. A weak one is one you can make cower and do whatever you want, at any time. A strong man is giving and loving, but doesn’t take any garbage from you. [Laughs] (I don’t know how we’re going to stretch that out to three minutes.)
Kimberly: [Laughs]
Dr. L: Okay. That’s all I have to say on that. Come on, ladies, you know when he’s a weak man. That’s when his mother calls and he shakes, you give him an argument and he falls apart and can’t function, and he’s willing to do anything, even hurt himself, demean himself for you…that’s not a man. A man will swim through shark infested waters to bring you lemonade, but not if you act like a…
