Book Description

One of America's favorite entertainers, Steve Harvey, has spent over twenty years making millions of people laugh in his stand-up comedy appearances, on the big screen, on his hit television programs and currently as a top-rated radio talk show host. But Harvey's jokes are always grounded in wisdom and reality, and thanks to his daily on-air conversations with his female listeners, he has come to realize an important truth: women just don't get men, no matter how hard they try - and they need someone to set them straight so they can finally have relationships that work, whether they're out there dating, in a long-term relationship or even married.

In ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MAN: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment , Harvey, collaborating with relationship advice expert Denene Millner, provides women with the ultimate playbook for dealing with men on their terms, on their turf and in their way. Finally, here are the secrets to unlocking the male mind, understanding his game, anticipating his moves and countering with unstoppable offense and defense.

Harvey encourages every woman who truly wants a solid, committed relationship to forget all the stuff she thinks she knows about men. ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MAN explains that most men are simple, driven by who they are, what they do and how much they earn, and until they are secure in those areas, they most likely won't be looking for any deep involvements. But once they are ready to get serious, men express their love with the "three p's" -- profess, provide and protect -- and require support, loyalty and sex (a.k.a. "The Cookie") from women in return.

Harvey reveals that women must set standards from the get-go, and he suggests coming up with a Top 10 list of requirements and then spelling them out since men aren't programmed to guess at these things on their own.

ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MANsheds light on everything from why men are in the fixing business and not the talking business and why men cheat to how to get the wedding ring and why independent women should reconnect with their girlish side to make their men feel necessary. Filled with practical principles, rules and tips, and illustrated with humorous and warm-hearted anecdotes from Harvey's life and friendships, ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MAN gives readers the real deal about the differences between the sexes and how to bridge them for a mutually rewarding partnership.
