Lodi News-Sentinel | Tuesday, April 13, 2021 by Steve Mann / About Town - Popular radio show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger donated her collection of Lego sets to the World of Wonders Science Museum in Lodi.
Itβs not an ordinary donation. American talk radio host and author Dr. Laura Schlessinger recently blessed Lodiβs World of Wonders (WOW) Museum with a unique gift. The Sirius XM Radio host of βThe Dr. Laura Programβ recently donated her collection of personally hand-assembled Lego sets to the museum.
The famous radio personality posted on social media, βFor more than four years my stress relieving activity of choice was building expert-level Lego sets. I completed everything I could get my hands on!β There are about 40 sets in all, some of which will be on display at the WOW when they reopen on April 15, according to museum president Sally Snyde.
βThey are unbelievable pieces of art,β says Snyde, who, along with two of her board members, traveled to Dr. Lauraβs home in Santa Barbara to pick them up. It all came about when Dr. Laura said on her radio show that she wanted to donate her Lego sets to a childrenβs museum. Someone heard it and contacted Snyde, who until then didnβt know Schlessinger at all. She called and the rest snapped together perfectly.
