My husband and I have been joyfully married for 38 years. I’m pretty sure we have the happiest marriage of anyone we know (except, maybe, our daughter and her husband, who are newlyweds, but show the makings of a wonderful long-haul team).

With that thought in mind, I asked my husband that night, “Am I affectionate enough?” He gave me a long look and said, “If you were any more affectionate, I’d need to get a restraining order!”
