I started listening to you more than 25 years ago from the back seat of my grandparents' Buick when my younger brother and I would travel with them during the summers. Now that I have my own kidlet, he is getting to experience the same no-nonsense lessons I remember learning when I was a kid.
I knew for certain he was paying attention to you when he started to use the word “madam.” Anytime he is talking and someone is not paying attention or tries to interrupt he will start saying “madam, madam...MADAM” loudly until he has their attention. It has become normal around our house to hear someone use the word “madam,” and I couldn’t be happier.
