Recently, I was at a bridal shower, and one of the “games” was to fill in the blanks on a pre-printed card marked “Advice for the Bride-to-Be.” I’ve been married for 32 years, so I had a lot to say. All of the questions, however, were easy to fill out because of your continual advice to women on their marriages.
The very first section to fill in was “Always remember to [BLANK]. I wrote “say thank you and compliment him.” Another answer I filled in was to “be the person you would want to come home to.” At the end of that little game, the bride-to-be stood up to read some of the responses that she really liked, and mine was one of them. I could hear the others say “wow, what a great answer,” and others saying “how did Janet come up with these?”
It's amazing how your suggestions really help when things get tough, so I was happy to share what I’ve learned with my friend, even though I felt a bit guilty for plagiarizing!
