Email of the Day: How I Reduced My Stress

I wanted to be calmer with my children and less like the Incredible Hulk. I heard you tell someone they needed to have more fun in their day, and my sister then suggested I start a “fun box” to help me do something “light” with my children and husband on a daily basis.

 

I did that and came to understand how a simple piece of advice could be so profound. I became more aware and present in my family’s lives and not someone who focused on the “chore” in situations. I started finding joy and happiness in everyday things. With my husband, I came up with silly and quick things we could do to have a giggle, and these few minutes now make a huge difference in our day together. It can be something as basic as a push-up or a water drinking contest! He pretends to roll his eyes, but after our “fun” moment, I notice how his mood changes for the better, and consequently, mine does too!
