Recently I heard you tell a caller how to be more of a spouse, suggesting she do five things every day for her husband, not expecting anything in return and they would see a difference in the relationship. While I have, over the years, done things randomly for my wife, I hadn’t made it a practice to do five things for her every day.

So, I’ve stepped up my game. I send flowers, cook dinner, tell her I love her, go shopping for her and with her, start her car when it’s cold outside, keep the gas and oil up to date, take her on dates, buy her lingerie (mostly it’s for me, but I do it to show her that she is still beautiful), do the grocery shopping and sometimes do the laundry. One of my favorite things I did for her was pack a bag with only a few clothes and take her on a vacation to buy her a totally new wardrobe while we were on the trip. You should have seen her face when she realized I had ONLY packed her makeup and bathing suit along with one change of clothing.

I hear a lot of the guys I’m around talk about how their wife doesn’t try to satisfy them or even have sex with them anymore, and it’s all I can do to keep my mouth shut and not brag about the physical intimacy in my marriage. I’m very fortunate to have a loving wife, and I adore her.
