I married young for all the wrong reasons, and I destroyed my first marriage by being selfish, cold, and just plain stupid. When I finally realized this, my marriage was beyond repair. I have fully accepted responsibility for possibly screwing up the lives of my two kids from that marriage. I was a piece of garbage in a lot of ways, and I caused the problems that ultimately led to divorce.
I started listening to you even before I met my current wife. We’ve been married for 14 years. This time I chose wisely (although she may not have chosen wisely by choosing me!). In this marriage, I am not trying to do my best; I’m trying to do YOUR best, so I’m not a terrible husband and father. So far, I’m doing pretty well.
As a former combat veteran, you’ve been an inspiration to me and have had a huge impact on my life. I’ve always been impressed by your wit and “no drama” approach, and each day listening to you, I hear or learn something new that I can apply to continue to make my marriage strong and happy.
