Almost twenty years ago, I started knitting. After hearing you talk about the importance of hobbies, I pulled out an unfinished blanket and completed it within two weeks. I completed a blanket for my daughter, my son and then started on one for my stepdaughter.
I never liked my stepdaughter, and there was always a lot of animosity between us. After hundreds of hours listening to you, I realized that after I married her father and made a new child with him, how devastating this was for her. I finally understood how much angst and pain we put her through, and I told my husband this. I’m excited to finish the blanket and give it to her the next time she comes to visit.
Without your wisdom, I would not be at this place of complete understanding and compassion for this once little girl who was so hurt. I plan on sharing with her how I came to this understanding and that I had no idea what she was really going through.
You transformed me into a mom and wife who finally took control of my angry outbursts. Even my family has seen the change. I’ve given my husband permission to let me know when I’m not acting like his girlfriend, and I wear sexy nightwear to bed every evening. I’m a better person by far because of the many things you taught me.
