When I was two hours away from home after visiting family, I hit a deer as I was driving. I had never hit and killed an animal before, so I was shaken up. I called my husband and told him what had happened, and after reassuring him that I was fine, said I’d call the police and a tow truck. I hung up wishing he was with me, but knowing that I could take care of everything.
Ninety minutes later, as I stood in the cold talking to a police officer, I saw a truck coming our way. I assumed it was slowing down after seeing the police car lights, but then it came to a stop. I looked up in amazement as my husband got out of the truck and with a smile handed me a coat, saying “I knew you would be cold.” I was so thankful to see him.
When you ask “would he swim through shark-infested waters to bring you a lemonade?” I now know mine would drive almost two hours to bring me a coat, so he would do anything to make sure I’m “good.” Thank you for reminding me to appreciate the wonderful guy I get to call my husband.
