My husband and I have been married for nearly 36 years. Our kids saw our ups and downs, and they saw us choose to love and be committed to one another through it all. A few years ago, when an βaffairβ app was in the news, our son wrote a social media post that I want to share. It said:
βFor every post I see about these apps where married people go to have affairs, I wonder what it would be like to see a post about a godly couple who has stuck together for a long time, through thick and thin. My parents have remained married, through great times and through difficult times for 30 years. My parents aren't perfect, but they made the decision to make it work, and my family is blessed because of it.
Thank you, mom and dad, for being great examples for your children. I believe that is a foundational value for our family and why my brother and sisters will always stick together, no matter what.β
Dr. Laura, thank you for the wisdom you've poured into my life. I am proud that we stayed the course, and I know we are stronger today than weβve ever been. Our family is proof.
