While on a week-long business trip with two female co-workers earlier this year, we listened to several hours of your program when we were in the car. My two co-workers were not very familiar with you and they tend to complain about their husbands, as some women do. I then challenged them to “do the Dr. Laura thing” on their reunion with their husbands and video it. I recommended squealing with delight, running into their husbands’ arms, giving him a giant hug, a big smooch, and telling him how much they missed him. We also all sent quick texts to our husbands, telling them how much we were looking forward to seeing them when we returned home.
We dropped the first woman off, and we videoed the reunion for her as she did exactly what we discussed. He loved it! I came home, and my wonderful husband of 25 years had cleaned the house and made dinner for me, so I sent the others my video and my husband and I had a wonderful evening. The other co-worker sent us her video, including the beautiful flower arrangement her husband had bought for her, and pictures of the steak dinner he had ready to grill (those simple texts sure worked wonders)! We all had great weekends and terrific sex getting reacquainted with our spouses.
Thank you, Dr. Laura, for your wise counsel to women to be the wives our husbands want instead of the entitled “nags” society tells us we should be.
