Amazed at the Rudeness
03/25/2016

A year ago the love of my life died, at age 77. Since then,  I moved into the independent living section of senior living complex, to be close to our only child and his family.

It is a wonderful home and I am so happy to be living here in my own space. Meals are in a common dining room. I am amazed at how some of the residents treat the kitchen and dining staff! Constant complaints about everything from the seasoning on the fish to the texture of the vegetables.

It is so sad to see seniors behaving this way, as if they are entitled to be rude or have earned the right to judge everything. It reinforces that you age, as you have lived your life. If you were cranky, judgmental, and just plain not nice to be around it will only get worse as you get older. I keep myself in check. There are certainly times to voice an opinion, but not over and over and over yet again and again...

Thanks for reminding us that rudeness is not acceptable under any circumstances!
