Email of the Day: Don't Do It If Your Mom Wouldn't Be Proud

By Dr. Laura on May 14, 2024
Man looks at both shoulders, on which there is a devil and angel on either side

My bride and I have been married for 43 years. During the first 20 years of marriage, I was in the Navy. We used this time to learn to communicate, listen, and trust each other. We have a great marriage because of our hard work.

I was listening to your program while taking a road trip to San Diego. My wife trusts me to go on my own and behave and I thoroughly plan to do that. Anything else would violate my marriage vows and just be unacceptable. Thank you for putting the word out about making wise decisions, judging people based on their behavior not just what they say, and looking into the future. Because if your mom's not going to be proud of your actions, you probably shouldn't do it!

Keep up the good work, you're doing fine. I have always wanted to say, "What's up, Doc?" Please enjoy the old salt humor. Have a nice day!
