You had a call today from a widow, about to remarry to give her son a father figure. You jumped in and steered her in a much better direction. I was widowed 30 years ago when my three children were all under 12. There were no uncles, grandfathers, or extended family. I heard you advise against dating and took it to heart.
I enrolled one of them into a private all-boys school, where he thrived. There were many male teachers, good role models, good values, trained coaches, and character-building. It was the best money I ever spent. I sat through basketball, football, and baseball. I got involved as much as I could supporting their teams and activities.
You have guided me throughout my children’s lives, and I thank you. From the bottom of my heart. My kids are all married, and my sons now coach their own children’s sports teams!
