When I started listening to you, I was in kidney failure, on dialysis, and had no energy. You talked about exercising and even had some callers do push-ups. I would be jealous that you could go for a hike or a caller could do a push-up. I thought I would give anything to be able to go on a walk or dance around the house and feel good at the end, and I vowed if I had a kidney transplant, I would do all of those things. I finally got my new kidney. I counted down the weeks until I could begin to exercise, saying I was going to make Dr. Laura proud I was not feeling sorry for myself. I was going to enjoy my health!
The first day I could, I got up at 4:30 in the morning and started to work out. It felt so good, I decided I could go to the gym. Iβve been doing it ever since and every day I still see improvements. Iβve even inspired all of my friends to get moving.
Thank you for encouraging exercise and for not letting callers get by with βpoor me,β βI am fatβ or βI donβt have the time to exerciseβ excuses. You inspired me, and because of you, I fell in love with exercise!
