When my youngest child was born, she had to be in the neonatal intensive care unit for a week. As is typical with NICUs, everyone has to scrub up and put on blue robes to be able to see or touch the infants.
One day, we brought our other two kids to see their new sister. My son was 3, and my other daughter was 5 at the time. They both scrubbed up and followed me into the NICU. When I picked up the baby and showed her to our son, he looked up at me with his big blue eyes and said “Mom, why did God make her so cute?”
It was the most precious thing for me to hear, and it still warms my heart today.
