My husband and I have listened to you for about 15 years. In the beginning, I didn’t like listening to you when we were in the car, because I worked as a daycare center teacher. That was my career of choice because I did not have kids of my own.
I did it for ten years and then after listening to your program consistently for two weeks, I realized I was part of the problem. No, parents would not become stay-at-home moms if I quit my job, because I’d be replaced at work in about five minutes. But I realized I couldn’t in good conscience be the substitute parent for those kids. While we loved them, we could never love them in the same way as their mothers could.
After quitting and leaving my career, I searched long and hard in my soul for a new direction. And I found an even “dreamier” dream job. I work in a small assisted living house taking care of five senior citizens who cannot live on their own. It gives me joy every day, because I’m giving them love and companionship especially when their families can’t always be there with them. Thank you for helping me learn that there are more ways to love and care for others.
