Untangling Mom From the Web of Email and Family Schedules In 2007, the Washington Post ran an article on the relatively new phenomenon of "email bankruptcy," citing statistics such as: there were 6 trillion business emails sent in 2006; workers were increasing their daily workload... stress levels were increasing... That was five years ago and it hasn't gotten any better...Being a mother who is active in her children's lives, there seems to be no escape from "email overload" for me. More >>

Moms Addicted to Their Smart Phones One day last summer I was enjoying myself at the State Fair with my kids until I lost my brand new iPhone. Internet Infidelity Our society has become more and more permissive and as people no longer espouse family values (in fact they denigrate them), there is something wrong. With no sense of values, there's a rise in behavior that would have raised eyebrows not so long ago. These days, amorality is the ultimate vindication for that behavior, and you'll find this all over the country. More >>

Give Kids Concrete Tools to Combat Bullying I had to double check what I read recently - that a fifth grader, a 10-year-old girl, killed herself. Things had gotten so bad in Ashlynn Connor's mind that she had just asked her mom to homeschool her the day before she was found hanging by a scarf in her closet. More >>

Can You Punish Employees for Things They Say on Facebook? "I run a small advertising agency with about 10 employees. Given the nature of our work, our employees spend much of their time online, especially on the social media websites including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We have found these websites a tremendous source of revenue, as all of our clients are looking to develop advertising strategies for these sites..." More >>

Searching for a Job Friday's call (10.07.11) from Donna caught my attention. She said SHE would "pound the pavement" to find a job while her husband sticks to the internet and such. Two years ago, I was out of work for 6 months. More >>
