Two weeks ago, my husband and I called in to give you our “first kiss” story which happened at our local skating rink when we were twelve years old. To make the call, we pulled into a parking spot on the street. We were so excited to talk to you that afterward, my husband started the car again and we proceeded to head to our next stop. That’s when we saw a police car running radar, and he turned on his lights. We were going 37 in a 25-mile zone, because our excitement overtook our brains.
It gets better. When we were first pulled over, I told the officer we weren’t trying to make an excuse, and then asked, “Do you know Dr. Laura?” “Of course,” he said, and we proceeded to tell him we had just talked to you and even played him back the recording of our conversation from the SiriusXM app. He got the biggest kick out of it, but still gave us the ticket. However, at the bottom of the ticket he wrote “first kiss” to remind him who we were.
My husband and I still think it was worth getting the ticket!
