I took a vow to my wife. I love her. She’s not perfect, but neither am I. For 37 years of marriage, she has put up with all my faults and shortcomings. She put up with frequent deployments while I was in the military, left alone to take care of things at home with our two sons while I was away. Looking back, it seems to me that I owe her an awful lot.
I believe that love is not just a feeling or an emotion. It’s a choice. I made that choice decades ago, and I have zero regrets. My wife is a wonderful woman and I am blessed beyond measure to have her. And I should tell her that more often than I do.
