My husband used to drive his motorcycle to work every morning. One day, after he kissed me goodbye, I was awakened by a constant loud pounding on the doorbell. Since he had just left, I thought perhaps he had gotten in an accident and a concerned neighbor was coming to get me! I panicked. It turned out be an angry neighbor, yelling at me to have my husband come see him, because this guy was tired of hearing the motorcycle in the morning. He was extremely rude to me, and he scared me half to death. When I told my husband, he said “I will take care of this.”
The neighbor came over that evening and they spoke in our garage. I wanted to spy, but heard your voice in my head and stopped myself. I could hear them raising their voices, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying. Finally, I heard the EXACT words I silently doubted would come out of my husband’s mouth. He said “You will NEVER speak to or harass my wife like that again! Don’t apologize to me; apologize to HER.”
The neighbor did sincerely apologize to me and we sorted everything. I will never doubt my husband’s efforts to protect me again.
