A Father's Day Memory
06/12/2014

As Father's Day approaches I think about my Dad - he died when I was 8 years old - 48 years ago. I don't remember everything about Daddy, but I do recall certain special memories. In particular, I remember him making me feel special. Daddy ran a grain elevator on the outskirts of our town and I remember calling him at work and asking him to "come get me" and he put aside what he was doing, drove into town to picked me up so I could go back to work with him and spend a few hours. He was such a special daddy.

I am so blessed to have these type of memories of my dad and also so blessed to still have my wonderful mother. She raised 3 kids after Daddy died - she was only 37 years old.  She gave us wonderful childhoods even though we didn't have a dad. What a lucky girl I am to have such awesome parents.
