I just listened to your Deep Dive podcast on Building Better Habits. I’ve been struggling quite a bit with anxiety, particularly panic attacks on subways, bridges and highways. This anxiety has turned my life upside down. To manage it, I decided to start building new habits, such as doing breathing exercises throughout the day (5 times a day for 5 minutes each), lowering my shoulders, decreasing my sugar intake and slowly exposing myself to challenging situations so I give myself “little wins” while not biting off more than I can chew.
These actions are slowly helping. But, there’s something you said in your Deep Dive that really struck me, and it's now helping me reframe the way I look at my anxiety. You said: “Don’t hate the struggle. It’s your key to a lot of joy… LOVE the struggle. It will eventually bring you a great gift.” I’m going to do that. Let’s see what this beast of a struggle gifts me.
