Recently, I was listening to the audio of the Today Show on my SiriusXM radio. They interviewed the former CEO of Pepsi on how she “juggled” family life and work.
Two minutes and forty seconds into the interview, my heart shattered for her children. One of her young children wrote her a note that said, “Mom, I would really appreciate it if you would please, please, please come home early. I will love you more if you come home.”
And the response from this working mom? She said “It broke my heart, but that’s reality!” That’s when MY heart broke, because the interviewer and the rest of the Today Show on-air staff were all praising her and saying how amazing she is.
