Yes, there are mundane, horrible days at home with little gratitude in the moment for the sacrifice of your time and money, but there is nothing sweeter or of more value than having young adult children who call you, want to be with you, or who give you a deep hug when they see you. No corporate job will ever measure up to the rewards of being at home with your kids. You only get one chance at this, because once they’re grown, you can’t go back.
